NSU's top ranked Master of Science in Information Technology helps you differentiate yourself from other candidates in a competitive technology market. Our degree gives you the opportunity to focus on what interests you the most. You’ll graduate with greater technology fluency and the soft skills needed to work among and with leadership teams.

Proficient math and technical skills will help drive your success in NSU’s M.S. in Information Technology program. You’ll build on existing skills and experience to gain advanced knowledge of organizational information systems, application and security technologies, and systems infrastructure. In addition to five core courses, your curriculum will include courses in the concentration of your choice.

Choose From Four I.T. Concentrations

Application Development

You’ll learn and apply the concepts of application specifications, development, integration and maintenance. This concentration prepares you for careers in software development and mobile and web application development.

Artificial Intelligence Application

You'll learn how artificial intelligence may be leveraged and applied to improve technology and organizational performance and processes including the insight into the associated legal, ethical, and policy issues.  This concentration will expose you to artificial intelligence technology and tools and their application to supporting technology and technology leadership decision processes associated with strategic roles in technology management. 

Cybersecurity Management

You’ll learn how security systems are built and how information is used by users, to help improve policies and procedures that protect data. This concentration prepares you for roles such as a cyber security analyst, information security engineer, or chief information security officer.

Data Analytics

You’ll learn how to collect, analyze, and manage data to help drive decisions for companies in any industry. This concentration prepares you for a career as a database administrator, computer and information research scientist, computer systems analyst, and more.

Why Earn Your M.S. in Information Technology at NSU?

The National Security Agency (NSA) and its affiliated federal agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)/National Initiative on Cybersecurity Education (NICE), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Department of Defense Office of the Chief Information Officer (DoD-CIO), and US Cyber Command (CYBERCOM), have designated NSU as a National Center of Academic Excellence (NCAE) in Cybersecurity and have certified that NSU’s curriculum in cybersecurity meets or exceeds the requirements and standards expected of a leader in cybersecurity education.

A graduate with an M.S. in Information Technology will have the ability to:

*This program is designed for students with undergraduate majors in science, math, engineering, or business. In addition, applicants must have knowledge of structured programming in a modern, high-level language, as well as assembly language and computer organization. Applicants who do not have adequate academic backgrounds may be required to take the 500-level graduate prerequisite course during the first term of the program.

Courses at the 500 level, when required, must be completed prior to taking courses at the 600 level. All 500-level courses must be completed with a grade of ‘B’ or higher to continue in the information technology degree program.
