Mohammad Hosseini Farid joined Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in 2020 as an Assistant Professor in the College of Computing and Engineering. His research focuses on brain tissue characterization at high strain rates, traumatic brain injury (TBI) under severe dynamic loads and ultrasound imaging of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). He has published several journal and conference papers related to brain tissue modeling and TBI, material characterization and the application of ultrasound in the CTS. Prior to this, Dr. Farid worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the department of orthopedic surgery at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, where he contributed to the biomedical engineering research on selecting the best treatment procedure for CTS patients using ultrasound imaging technique. Dr. Farid received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University (NDSU) in 2019.
